OUR WEAKDAY MINISTRIES

Weakday Ministries serves through the talents and efforts of our volunteers and staff.

PASTOR DONNA SHAW

Executive Pastor

Pastor Donna Shaw is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. However, Donna spent most of her childhood in Tampa, Florida, and Houston, Texas, where she trained as a competitive gymnast. Throughout her years competing in gymnastics, Donna won the National Title in Toledo, Ohio, in 1992 and the AAU Junior Olympics in Rochester, Minnesota, shortly thereafter. Donna graduated in 1999 from Westfield High School in Houston, Texas.  While working on completion of her undergraduate degree, Donna worked in the surgical department at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, Texas.  She completed her undergraduate studies at Liberty University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Religious Studies. She completed her Master of Arts in Ministry Practice from the Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary in 2013.

Donna has served in many capacities of Church work and faith development. She is an ordained Deacon and Elder within the Global Methodist Church. Throughout the years, she has served as the Program Ministries Director for St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church in San Antonio, Texas, and later as an Associate-Student Pastor at Highland Lakes United Methodist Church in Buchanan Dam, Texas. She has also served as Senior Pastor of Cherokee United Methodist Church, Valley Spring United Methodist Church and Grace United Methodist Church.  Donna went on to form Weakday Ministries, NP where she has served as the Executive Director from 2016-2022 and now currently President and Senior Pastor of Weakday Ministries.  She has served as the Chief Operations Officer of Shaw Pain Clinic since shortly after its founding in December 2019.

Pastor Donna is married and has two children, Kade and Kayla. Her husband, Kaleb, works as a physician and CEO of Shaw Pain Clinic in Marble Falls, Texas. Donna loves spending time with her family. She also loves caring for and rescuing animals. Her favorite scripture verse is Ephesians 3:20, “Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine” because she has repeatedly witnessed God’s love and grace working, not only in her life, but in others as well.”

BOBBIE STEINER

Executive Director

Bobbie Steiner is originally from LaCrosse, Wisconsin, and spent much of her childhood growing up in St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Hazelwood West High School in 1983. She attended college in Ft. Worth, Texas before joining the Ft. Worth Police Department in 1986. As a Patrol Officer, she developed a passion for serving others and working with children. Bobbie returned to college and graduated from Lindenwood University with BA in Elementary and Special Education. She received a MA in Educational Leadership in 2008 from Texas State University.

Prior to her retirement in 2021, Bobbie served as a Special Education Teacher for 13 years in Missouri and Texas.  Her passion for Servant Leadership led her to school administration where she was an Assistant Principal for five years and a Principal for seven years. She is adamant that her servant leadership opportunities didn’t end with retirement; it was only the beginning.

Bobbie married her high school sweetheart, the late Daniel Steiner in 1984. Together they have two grown children, Thomas and Andrew. Through 38 years of marriage, they were fortunate to have many opportunities around the country to serve others with Dan’s service to the US Air Force. They moved to Burnet in 2019 and quickly became active members of the community.
Bobbie is a member of Walnut United Methodist Church in Round Mountain. In addition, she enjoys attending services and fellowship at 7 Creeks Church in the community in which she lives. She has a passion for learning and deepening her understanding of Christianity through these experiences. Her favorite verse, Philippians 4:13-I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.

HOPE BENNETT

Director of Operations

Hope Bennett was born, raised and has lived in the Central Texas area always. Growing up in Round Rock, she enjoyed gymnastics and competitive cheerleading. College took her to both The University of Texas where she studied Business and to Texas State University where she majored in Psychology and minored in Sociology. Hope then relocated to the Cedar Park area and her work experience included several years in Health Care, Real Estate, Finance and Church Ministry. Hope is passionate about serving people, meeting needs and helping them accomplish goals.
Hope became a believer as an adult and has spent over 20 years in some form of ministry leadership. Eight of those years were spent on staff of a large bible church where she had been introduced to Jesus and received biblical discipleship and mentoring. She served as the Women’s Ministry Director with the responsibility to oversee a ministry that served over 1000 women and mobilized over 100 volunteers each year.
Most recently, Hope and her husband, Jerry, moved to Burnet 4 years ago. During this time, Covid hit and the opportunity to attend churches became difficult. In an effort to meet a spiritual need as well as community, Jerry and Hope offered a small church service to their neighbors. The original timeline for this gathering was only intended to be about 6-8 weeks. Over three years later, they are still meeting and growing and watching our big God do His thing.
Not only is church growing, but their family is growing. Jerry and Hope’s children include: Stephen, Dannah, William and Lauren. Stephen married Liana the same month Dannah married Thomas in 2023 and William is now engaged to his high school sweetheart, Shelby. Another fun year ahead!
Through some intense life circumstances and her God-given ministry opportunities, Hope’s passion for shepherding and serving continues to grow. One of Hope’s favorite personal verses is Zeph 3:17 “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”
Hope is excited to be joining the staff team in 2024 and using her gifts and talents to serve children and families through Weakday Ministries.
